PDP presidential candidate Atiku in a close door meeting with the former President Olusegun Obasanjo

Atiku Abubakar, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is currently in Abeokuta holding a closed-door meeting tith his former boss, Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Atiku was accompanied to the trip by top officials of the PDP and his campaign team, including his righthand man and former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, and Uche Secondus, the National Chairman of the party.
The visit to Obasanjo is of enormous significance, seeing how Obasanjo relentlessly told everyone who cared to listen that this deputy for eight years is unfit to hold the nation's highest office.
As earlier reported by SaharaReporters, though, Obsanjo is gradually having an aboutface and will eventually endorse Atiku for 2019, according to sources very close to him.
A source familiar with talks between the two former leaders told SaharaReporters on Thursday that "if everything goes according to plan, Baba is expected to endorse him after the meeting".
